This '56 Belair will get a frame-off treatment for bodywork and paint. This car is in very good condition for its age.
This car is actually quite straight and has very little rust.
Most of the car is now stripped of parts and soon the body will separated from the frame.
A rear spring relocator kit was installed once the body was off the frame. By moving the springs in from outside the frame allows the use of 10 inch wide wheels on the rear without any other modification.
The body is mounted on the rotisserie and ready for sandblasting underneath. The firewall is going to be smoothed with no holes or wiring showing.
The paint on the body panels was chemically stripped. The bottom, door jambs and window openings will be sand blasted.
The car has now been sandblasted and ready for metal work.
The firewall is smoothed with no seams showing and all unused holes were welded closed.
The rear floor brace and trunk valance were replaced with new pieces.
