This 1945 truck cab is to be mounted on a 1978 frame. Some rust will be repaired, but not painted. The patina paint will be retained.
The front end is assembled. Cab is located in position. Next task is to fabricate cab mounts.
Here are the fabricated mounts.
A brace along the bottom of the cab helps distribute the weight to the outer support braces.
The bottom of the cab was cut too high so a piece was added to make the appropiate length.
The rad support is mounted to the frame.
Here a section was replaced because the fender bolted to it and there was nothing left of the old metal to fasten the fender to.
The front valance is replaced with a new one fabricated without bumper bracket notches.
Seat mounts are fabricated for the new seat.
The rear half of the floor is finished and the transmission tunnel is mostly shaped. A few more trim cuts and it will fit properly.
Floor and tunnel are fit in place, just need to fasten things done. Tunnel and floor boards will be bolted in for easy removable and access to transmission.
The bottom of the driver’s door is rotted away and needs to be rebuilt.
Cab and other sheet metal are now completely mounted to frame. The “White Rose” logo was almost completely vanished from the doors. After making some stencils the logo was repainted and made to look weathered.
