Here is the next project. This truck is being completely restored.

The tailgate had some deep dents on the bottom edge. The areas were cut out, hammer and dollied into shape, then welded back in place.

The inner wheel housings were cut out and will be replaced with new ones.

Another area that was cut out, straightened, and welded back in is this contour for the front fuel tank filler hose. It had been bashed down to fit a fuel slip tank in the box.

The box is sandblasted and now ready for rust repair.

The tailgate is taking shape after filling, sanding and priming.

This dent was pulled out using weld-on studs.

Some filler is needed to smooth out the rough areas.

The rear corners of the box were badly rusted. Here is a repair from the past. This will all be cut out and replaced with new metal.

The structural pieces in the bottom rear corners are also rusted and need to be replaced. A small metal piece was welded in place to relocate the corner support. This ensures that the piece is in the same position when it is reinstalled.

The bottom of this fender needed to be extended to match the original fender. It was sliced and a piece of filler material was welded in.
