This Mercury Comet has ony 15,000 miles. The original six cylinder motor was changed out for a small block V8 and automatic overdrive transmission. This car will be made into a GT model.

The original chrome trim is eliminated for the GT model and the holes were welded closed.

The body is ready for block sanding. This body was totally rust free and minimal body work was required.

The Comet GT stripes were masked out and painted, then buried under the clear coats.

Below is the finished car. The front bumper was moved back 2.5" closer to the body and exhaust notches were cut into the rear valance.
