This is a technique used to confirm the straightness of body panels before painting. A white board 2'x4' has a grid pattern taped out on it. The board is positioned close to the body so that it reflects onto the panel. The panel is wiped with final wipe which gives a glossy surface to reflect the board well. This is an excellent way to catch any issues before painting.
